RESEARCH / REPORTING
A consistent structure
for every research finding.
The purpose of a research article is to make the analytical question, supporting record and limits of interpretation clear.
THE REPORT STRUCTURE
Keep the evidence beside the result.
Question & scope
State the question being investigated, the measured property and what was excluded.
Material & provenance
Identify the sample, lot information, source attribution and sampling limits. Distinguish customer-supplied information from laboratory observations.
Method & reference
Identify the method/version, relevant conditions, reference materials, sample preparation and the scope actually demonstrated.
Results & supporting data
Report actual values with units and calculation basis. Include relevant chromatograms, peak tables, controls and permitted report/data downloads.
Interpretation & limitations
Explain what the data supports, unresolved questions and the limits of sampling, detection, preparation and comparison.
Review, version & corrections
Identify the actual review and release information, the article/report version, relevant relationships and links to corrections or addenda.
FIGURES & DOWNLOADS
Make charts understandable.
Show the method and the scale.
A chromatogram or chart needs a descriptive title, labeled axes and units, a sample identifier and enough method context to interpret it. A figure caption should explain any integration choices, exclusions or material limitation that changes the reading.
Published attachments should be the authorized release versions. Private client records, identifying information and confidential raw files should not be uploaded to the public article.
VERSIONS & UPDATES
Make changes traceable.
Link an update to the original.
A correction or addendum should identify the affected article and version, the change, its reason and its effect on the interpretation. Readers should be able to follow the original and the update without mistaking one for the other.
An article category or a review label is not proof of peer review, accreditation or independent validation. Describe only the review actually performed.

Tell us which material and which measurement you want to understand.
